Member Rights

Active Member Rights:

  • Right to attend any IITA meeting
  • Right to use of all IITA’s membership facilities
  • Right to receive all of IITA’s regular publications free or at reduced membership rates
  • Right to vote for the Board of Directors
  • Right to hold IITA office
  • Right to serve on the IITA Board of Directors
  • Right to serve on all the IITA committees
  • Right to chair any non-Board IITA committee

Associate Member Rights:

All of the rights and privileges of active members except:

  • Right to vote
  • Right to chair committees

Corresponding Member Rights:

 

  • Right to attend any IITA meeting
  • Right to use of all IITA’s membership facilities
  • Right to receive all of IITA’s regular publications free or at reduced membership rates

 

   Student Member Rights:

   Student Members pay reduced dues, but enjoy all the rights and
privileges of Associate Members except:

 

  • Right to hold IITA office
  • Right to serve on the Board of Directors
  • Right to serve on IITA committees

 

  Honorary Member Rights:

   Honorary membership may be conferred upon individuals who have
distinguished themselves in the translation or interpretation professions
by a vote of two-thirds (2/3) of the board of directors. The total number
of living honorary members shall not exceed ten (10) at any one time, and
not more than two (2) may be elected in any one (1) year.

Life Member Rights:

   Life members enjoy the rights and privileges of the class of membership
(Active, Associate, or Corresponding) that they had when accepted as Life
members.
